V-I-Pooch Dog Grooming Terms & Conditions
-
MUZZLE: Please tell us if your dog is aggressive with people/other pets, we may need to use a muzzle if deemed necessary.
-
GROOMING REQUIREMENTS: We will use reasonable endeavours to groom your dog to your requirements. However, if your dog’s coat is matted you acknowledge and agree that it may not be possible for us to achieve the style that you desire.
-
DE-MATTING: In accordance with the Animal Welfare Act, we will not spend more than 15 minutes de-matting. A matted coat may result in us having to clip the coat short all over - our priority here is comfort as matting can be painful for the dog and dangerous to remove. There is an extra charge for matted dogs due to the extra time it takes and excess wear and tear to equipment. The additional charges will depend on the severity of the matted coat:
-
Targeted de-matting (such as under the legs and behind the ears): where we carry out targeted de-matting, an additional charge of £5.00 to the cost of the groom will be incurred.
-
General de-matting over the whole body (only available where the process is likely to take less than 15 minutes): where we carry out general de-matting, an additional charge of £10.00 to the cost of the groom will be incurred.
-
Clipping out (shave) of the coat: where we need to clip out your dog’s coat, an additional charge of £10.00 to the cost of the groom will be incurred.
-
-
EMERGENCY VET TREATMENT: For some dogs, grooming procedures can be stressful, and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current one during or after the groom. We will obtain immediate veterinary treatment for your dog should it be deemed necessary, and it is agreed that you will be responsible for paying the costs of such vet treatment.
-
STOPPING A GROOM: We reserve the right to refuse/stop services at any time before or during the grooming process, this could be due (but not limited) to an aggressive/stressed dog, health concerns or finding fleas.
-
FLEAS: If your dog is found to have fleas, we will charge a fee of £12.00 in addition to the cost of the groom, where your dog will be bathed in a flea shampoo and the salon disinfected.
-
TICKS: We will not attempt to remove ticks ourselves. We believe it is a job best completed by a veterinarian.
-
ANAL GLANDS: We do not express anal glands and believe you should ask your veterinarian to do this. Ears are only plucked upon request.
-
VACCINATIONS: All customers are responsible for keeping their dog up to date with vaccinations.
-
PUPPY GROOM: For the health of your puppy, you should wait 2 weeks after your puppy’s second vaccination and your puppy should be a minimum of 13 weeks of age before booking a puppy groom.
-
MICROCHIPPING: We will not groom any dog that has been microchipped within the last 24 hours.
-
PREGNANT / IN-SEASON DOGS: Dogs which are pregnant or in season will be accepted for a groom unless deemed unsafe.
-
HEALTH (PRIOR TO APPOINTMENT): You must inform us of any medical conditions affecting your dog. We may ask you to provide a letter from your dog’s vet confirming that they are fit to be groomed before the groom is carried out.
-
HEALTH (ON ARRIVAL FOR APPOINTMENT): If your dog appears unwell at the time of the appointment, they will not be accepted for grooming due to the risk of cross infection to other dogs. In this case you will be asked to re-book the grooming appointment once your dog has received vet attention and has fully recovered.
-
CHARGES: The price of the groom will be the price stated at the time the grooming appointment was made plus any additional charges that may become payable for the reasons set out in these Terms. You must pay for the groom in full upon collection of your dog.
-
LIMITATION OF OUR LIABILITY:
-
Whilst we take every care of your dog whilst it is being groomed, any dog left on our premises is left entirely at the owner’s risk.
-
We strongly advise you insure your dog. Whilst we take every reasonable precaution to prevent it, we will not accept any responsibility for any loss, injury, death or illness suffered by your dog whilst in our care, except to the extent that we are unable to limit or exclude our liability by the relevant law.
